8-4-2013 Teen Challenge

Apologies for this being a little late...  I think we are all adjusting to Pastor Kevin beginning his three month sabbatical.  While we as a church are happy that Pastor Kevin is getting a much needed rest, we certainly miss his teaching and family's presence.

However, this past Sunday we welcomed Teen Challenge from Peoria.  Teen Challenge exists to, "evangelize and disciple men and women who have life-controlling problems. The plan that we use is to teach sound biblical principles to provide a solid spiritual foundation on which to build relationships in the family, church, career field, and local community.

Teen Challenge Illinois endeavors to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive. We also desire to enrich the lives of our students by providing actual work experience so they can improve their work ethic and become productive members of society.

Teen Challenge is not a traditional medical-model drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. We are a faith-based, Christ centered alternative to help men and women rebuild their lives. There is a cure for the drug epidemic plaguing our nation. We believe the cure is found only in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ."

We were blessed to hear some wonderful music and some moving testimonies.   If you are interested in finding out more about Teen Challenge here in Peoria, please check out their website.
